DUSTY WINGS OF THE DESERT TO PRESENT $30,000 DONATION TO ANIMAL SAMARITANS SPCA ON JUNE 11

THOUSAND PALMS, CA - (June 6, 2007) - Dusty Wings of the Desert will present a donation in the amount of $30,000 to Animal Samaritans SPCA at its monthly luncheon on Monday, June 11. The event will be held at Desert Willow Country Club from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Representatives from the media interested in photo opportunities or interviews are invited to attend between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Dusty Wings selected Animal Samaritans to receive the funds raised for charity for two years beginning August 1, 2006. The support is for fiscal years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. Prior beneficiaries include Guide Dogs of the Desert International and Gilda's Club.

Dusty Wings' first fundraiser to benefit Animal Samaritans was its annual gala which held on April 21, 2007 at the estate of Lindi and Gino Biggi Palm Desert, a.k.a. Biggi Bird Gardens. The event was organized by Janie Hughes (chair) and Karen Reynolds (co-chair) of Dusty Wings.

Dusty Wings of the Desert, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit philanthropic organization of current and past flight attendants. Members comprise a synergistic group of women who enjoy common interests, and the support they give the community through their donations.

Animal Samaritans SPCA is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit animal welfare organization committed to eliminating the euthanasia of adoptable animals. Programs and services in place to save the lives of healthy and treatable animals include prevention through humane education; low cost and no-cost spay and neuter; low-cost vaccinations; microchipping; shelter and care; and adoptions to lifelong homes. Additional free services that enhance the bond between people and animals include a volunteer-based animal assisted therapy program for hospitals, health care, special needs facilities, and Juvenile Hall.
