DOGS AND SWIMMING POOLS: Not all dogs are good swimmers. Left unsupervised some fail to find their way to the swallow end and drown — especially puppies. That’s not to say Fido can’t enjoy his favorite cement pond; just be sure he’s trained to find the steps and can get out on his own. After your dog enjoys his romp in the pool, rinse him off to remove the chlorine from his fur. Should dogs drink pool water? Honestly, can anyone stop them? Just know that when dogs drink too much pool water they can get an upset stomach from the chemicals.
