My story: Pinto is a pocket-sized protector who wants to look after his human. He has been learning in foster care not to be so worried, and to trust that his humans will take care of him. He responds brilliantly to training; he enjoys knowing how to properly handle situations and would greatly benefit from a home that would continue his learning. He would make an excellent second dog; he looks to his foster dog sibling for guidance and loves to spend the day playing with her. With his trusted humans, he is playful, goofy, and a big snuggler.A potential adopter will need to look past Pinto’s initial fear of strangers and see the big heart underneath the fear. He has progressed quickly in foster care and is ready to bond closely to his forever person.

Current Training

Pinto knows to sit at his owner’s heel when a situation worries him and will stay and/or follow his owner when cued. Currently, when visitors come over, Pinto will remain calmly in a separate room with a baby gate. We are working on removing the barrier. Pinto is availble by appointment since he is in foster care.
