Rattlesnake Aversion Training for Dogs by Natural Solutions

  • Animal Samaritans 72120 Pet Land Place Thousand Palms, CA, 92276 United States (map)

Rattlesnakes are a very real danger for dogs here in the Coachella Valley, and prevention can save lives.

Animal Samaritans is hosting Rattlesnake Aversion Training by Natural Solutions, designed to teach dogs to recognize and avoid rattlesnakes using sight, sound, and scent. This training helps reduce the risk of a potentially fatal snakebite while dogs are hiking, walking, or spending time outdoors.

Each year, tens of thousands of dogs are bitten by rattlesnakes in the United States. Even with emergency veterinary care, snakebites can be life-threatening and costly. Rattlesnake aversion training provides dogs with an added layer of protection and gives pet owners peace of mind during rattlesnake season.

Training sessions will be held at Animal Samaritans in Thousand Palms on Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 15. Each session lasts approximately 30 to 60 minutes and includes check-in, training, and debriefing.

The cost is $90 per dog, and advance registration is required. Space is limited and spots are filling quickly.

To register email sjimenez@animalsamaritans.org or call 760-601-3926.

This training is an important, proactive step to help keep dogs safe while also supporting Animal Samaritans’ lifesaving programs.
