  • Always keep your pet on a leash when hiking/walking with your dogs (especially smaller dogs)

  • Be aware of your surroundings when walking your pet

  • Always keep your small dog or puppy on a leash when going for walks

  • Keep a close eye on small pets when they in your yard or in any uncovered area, especially at night

  • Be aware of owls and other large birds when your pet is outside or in your yard as these birds can snatch small pets

  • Be aware of the various predatory bird species in your area and be aware of their behaviors

  • Purchase protect wear for your pet such as a “Coyote Vest”

  • Purchase a “decoy owl” and place it outdoors in a visible area
